ScopeAgreed exists because of a pattern every independent professional knows. A project starts with a clear agreement. Then the requests arrive: a small tweak here, one more round there, a quick extra deliverable. None of them feels worth a difficult conversation, so the work gets done for free. By the end of the project, the margin is gone and nobody quite noticed it leave.
The problem usually isn't the client. It's that saying "this wasn't in the agreement" requires you to prove it, from memory, mid-project, to someone you want to keep working with. That's an awkward position even when you're right.
So we built the tool we wanted on our own client work: a baseline made from the document both sides signed, change requests that cite it, and approvals with a real signature. When the paperwork does the pushing back, the relationship doesn't have to.
Most scope disputes come from ambiguity, not bad faith. A clear record protects the relationship on both sides.
Free work given deliberately builds goodwill. Free work absorbed silently just builds resentment. The difference is a record.
Baselines are immutable and decided requests lock. An audit trail you can edit isn't an audit trail.
